The Ultrafunkula – About us
A feel-good, inclusive festival and music events company who are passionate about dance music. Our ethos is to bring together people from all walks of life and give them a lovely time!
Established by life-long friends with a love of dance music culture, Ultrafunkula was born.
We have run a series of one-off parties throughout Mersea Island, held club residents in London, and recently started our very own festival.
We have always done this for the love of music, and we believe you will feel this when you attend one of our events!
Returning on 2nd August 2025 & celebrating our 5th year, bringing more of what you love across
the whole music spectrum.
We can finally announce that The Streets’ frontman,
Mike Skinner, will headline Secret Island Festival this summer with one of his iconic DJ sets.
Our phase one lineup also includes Stanton Warriors and stellar names in Jungle and Drum & Bass,
Jumpin Jack Frost and Heist,
who will be taking the lead on the @roughtempo stage
For our fifth year, we are thrilled to introduce our new
LIVE MUSIC STAGE –
punk, roots, indie, country, rock and everything in between, featuring Wilswood Buoys, Popes of Chillitown, Hobo Chang and Bridget.
Secret Island Festival 2024
Secret Island Festival is back for 2024 and we can’t wait to welcome our Phase One lineup to the island, including Drum and Bass heavyweights,
Hype and Hazard and the newly awarded ‘Best Female DnB Producer 2023′, Kara.
Joining them will be Phil Hartnoll (Orbital), Semi Delicious label boss, Demi Riquísimo, label contributor Michelle Manetti and rising star, Scarlett O’Malley.
As well as our good friends, Rough Tempo, we have the new Forbidden Planet stage, which will host Colin Dale, amongst many other great acts.
