8.3 Searches are conducted as a condition of entry in accordance with UK law.

8.5 CCTV and bodyworn cameras may be used for crime prevention and evidential purposes.

8.6 Throwing any kind of object is extremely dangerous and will lead to eviction.

9. DRUGS POLICY

9.1 The Event operates a strict zerotolerance policy toward illegal drugs and psychoactive substances.

9.2 Drug enforcement laws are as applicable on the festival site as anywhere else in the country. Police and security officers will be on-site and will deal with drug offences in accordance with national guidelines.
9.2 Any person found in possession of illegal substances may be:

refused entry

removed from site without refund

reported to the police

9.3 If you deal in drugs, it is likely that you will be arrested. Neither anti-social nor illegal behaviour will be tolerated, and participants will leave themselves liable for eviction from the site.

9.5 Amnesty bins may be provided at entry points.
9.6 All confiscated items will be disposed of and will not be returned.

9.7 Experimenting with drugs can lead to adverse reactions. The crowds and the size of the Festival can be very frightening and disorientating. If you do take drugs and you become ill, depressed or frightened please ask a steward to direct you to one of the many facilities on site, such as security, welfare or medical services, which can help and support you.

9.8 Polydrug use – using more than one drug at a time – intensifies the effects of the drugs, making them more dangerous. Mixing alcohol alongside other drugs is one of the most common forms of polydrug use and can seriously increase the strength and impact of those substances, increasing the chances of a potentially fatal chemical reaction.

9.9 The strength and type of drugs can significantly increase their danger. Drugs like Ecstasy and MDMA have, on average, nearly doubled in strength since 2005, with some pills found to be testing four times stronger than those available twenty years ago. The stronger the drug, the more dangerous its effects. The use of Ketamine – a powerful anaesthetic – can be fatal, particularly when taken alongside other substances.

9.10 For more information about drugs, head to Frank, an independent government-funded website offering unbiased facts about drug-use (NB: Secret Island Festival is not responsible for the content of external websites

The festivalgoer will have their details taken and be given the chance to make a statement before any decision is made. With the provided evidence and report, we will assess and decide to issue either a warning and let the individual back into the event, or they will take the wristband off and get security personnel to evict them from the site.

In extreme cases, an eviction will be instantaneous and the festivalgoer will be evicted straight away.

If you are evicted, you will not be permitted back onto the site to collect any belongings. Instead, you will be offered a phone call to a friend or family member on site who will have to gather your stuff and take it home for you.

If evicted, the festivalgoer will be asked to leave the entire site and be responsible for making their own way home (either by using the taxi, or the shuttle bus). They will not be allowed back into the event at all.
